Anthropic's Claude smart reports scan team chats to flag "inefficient" employees

Anthropic this week launched "smart reports" for Claude Enterprise: a manager picks a team and date range, and Claude reads team chat transcripts, flagging "inefficiencies" including sessions labeled "personal or off-topic." Anthropic says the reports shouldn't inform employment decisions, but critics note 90% of executives in one survey say AI hasn't boosted productivity, and Proton just told staff their jobs depend on an AI re-interview — raising concerns the tool becomes workplace surveillance.
