MCP memory compiler cuts coding agent session costs by 48.5% in 30-task test

A developer released Minni Memory 1.4.2, an MCP server that compiles agent memory to cut token spend.
Problem: coding agents re-read full memory files (CLAUDE.md, MEMORY.md, topic files) nearly every turn; Claude Code also only loads the first 200 lines (25KB) of the memory index.
Approach
- Audits everything the agent loads and compiles it into a small always-on index; full sections fetched on demand
- BM25 keyword retrieval, no embeddings or network calls; deterministic compile keeps the index byte-stable so prompt caching still works
- Four commands (init, doctor, apply, undo), writes only memory files, fully local
New in 1.4.2: Codex/AGENTS.md support, plus confidence tiers (full section / one-line pointer / nothing) based on relevance.
Results: a 30-task Sonnet run cost $0.2825/session vs $0.5487 without it (48.5% cheaper) with similar judged answer quality. Install: npx -y minnimemory install
