Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-30
Lucen Robotics launched Laika, an open, modular robotics kit for physical AI developers.
- One kit, five builds: the same set of 12 torque-controlled modular actuators converts between biped, wheeled, quadruped, 7-DoF arm and dual-arm configurations with just a hex key—no soldering or rewiring
- Pricing: the 4-in-1 All-in-One bundle starts at $5,999 early-bird (about 3x cheaper than Unitree EDU); arm-only kits from $1,999
- Specs: legged and wheeled builds carry an onboard NVIDIA Jetson Orin; firmware and SDK are MIT-licensed
- Availability: pre-orders open, limited to 100 units, shipping December 2026 with a fully refundable $399 deposit
