Survey of 200 CIOs/CTOs: 67% tracking full costs say enterprise AI breaks even or better
BenBajarin · x · 2026-10-30
Ben Bajarin (Creative Strategies) published the E/AI Index V2, a second survey of 200 CIOs and CTOs in North America and Europe (Sept 2026). Key findings: 67% of CIOs who track full costs are at break-even or better (22 of 33); 92% of scaled operators tracking full costs break even or better; 83% of scaled software teams see savings, revenue, or value above token cost. Returns concentrate by workload and rise with production scale. The research frames AI software buyers ("AIaaS") as the key to understanding who funds the AI buildout.
