Responding to claims that Stack Overflow is being replaced by AI tools, an executive clarified: 1) the public Q&A site is only one part of the company; 2) while mass simple, repetitive questions now go to AI tools, complex questions continue to be asked on-site. Most importantly, the company pivoted aggressively to enterprise a few years ago and recently launched Stack Internal—a governed AI context layer producing curated, SME-validated knowledge inside companies, so AI agents work off accurate information.
