ycombinator · x · 2026-10-30
Talos (YC F26) is building an early-warning system for power grid infrastructure. US outages cost over $125 billion last year and failures have doubled since 2024, with 75% of power coming from machines past their intended lifespan. Talos deploys non-invasive, retrofittable sensors monitoring vibration, magnetic flux, temperature and humidity to catch small issues before catastrophic failures, now covering 25+ assets with national labs and utilities.
