Indie dev ships an MCP server exposing 40 US government per diem and allowance tools
allowancesapiteam · reddit · 2026-10-30
An indie developer added an MCP server on top of Allowances API, turning US government travel and overseas allowance tables (GSA, DTMO, DOS) into agent-queryable JSON. Ask 'what's the per diem in San Diego?' and get $208 lodging / $86 M&IE with a link to the official GSA table. About 40 tools cover per diem, mileage, COLA and hardship rates; free tier of 100 requests/month, one-line setup for Claude, Cursor, VS Code and Codex.
