Checklist granularity: optimizing correlated agreement to pick the right cut
JessicaHullman · x · 2026-10-30
On checklist granularity: too fine a checklist won't produce overlap even with many reviewers; too coarse means high overlap even across different papers. The team optimizes a proxy — finding a coarsening of the atomic claim space that maximizes correlated agreement, i.e., how much more reviewers of the same paper agree than reviewers of different papers.
