Commonroom beta: chat with neuron-steered LLM personas and hunt emergent personalities

Inspired by neuron-explorer visualization sites that lacked a "chat with" button, developer slimer48484 launched Commonroom, a beta "social interpretability" website.
How it works:
- Enter a layer, neuron index, and steering strength to chat with a neuron-steered model, or reuse configurations saved by others
- Users rate model personas and branch other people's chats
- A profile of each persona builds up over time, new discoveries are tracked, and a leaderboard rewards good "persona hunters"; deeper understanding unlocks new SVG profile pictures for the model
The screenshot shows community-named personas like "Kangaroo in a Hat" and "Lyra's Evil Qwen L14 · N8949," plus an unsteered Qwen baseline as a control.
