Hack lets any Grok bot switch to Opus by routing requests through a Cursor project
bfrench · x · 2026-10-29
@moritzkremb shared a trick for controlling which model your Grok bot uses, essentially turning a Cursor project into a model router:
- Create a new Cursor project with an empty workspace
- Tell your Grok bot to connect to that project and build a skill so any of your bots can send commands to it
- From then on, just tell any bot "use the Cursor project with Opus for this request"
The reposter notes this is a general pattern: the same approach can extend a bot's capabilities beyond its defaults, well beyond model switching.
