charles_irl · x · 2026-10-29
Realtime voice company Deepgram is acquiring Daily (Daily.co), the team behind the open-source Pipecat framework for realtime audio/video agents.
- The Daily team joins Deepgram and will continue work on Pipecat and the global network infrastructure powering realtime audio and video.
- An independent Pipecat Foundation will be established to steward the open-source framework.
- A notable consolidation signal for the voice-agent stack: a model provider absorbing the realtime transport layer.
