Routing coding agents' questions by decision type: 762 questions, only 59 needed the owner
DynoKore · reddit · 2026-10-29
The author shares how their team routes questions from coding agents building a business system: when a task exceeds its spec, the agent stops and asks with options instead of guessing. Questions are routed by decision type, not risk: product direction, rule exceptions, or loosening checks go to a human; routine design calls within documented rules are answered from those rules and prior rulings. Every answer is recorded with who made it, so later questions can cite precedent. Scale: in the week to Oct 26, 2026, agents raised 762 design questions; of 737 answered, only 59 needed the owner. The key insight: "not sure which route this is" must count as a valid reason to ask—otherwise the agent ends up judging risk, which is exactly the judgment you wanted to keep with a person.
