One prompt line ends the endless Opus-vs-Astra bug review loop
blixt · x · 2026-10-29
A developer's fix for the loop where Codex Astra keeps flagging theoretically-possible-but-rarely-real bugs and Opus keeps fixing them: add a line to your review prompt or AGENTS.md — "Rate each bug 1-10 on frequency and severity; if the product is below 5, file an issue and leave the code alone" (tune the threshold per project). For the fixing model, add "Do not design for rare or future cases nobody asked about" to CLAUDE.md. The reblogger adds he routinely caveats Opus with "was it exaggerating / could this happen in practice" checks.
