caolonghua · x · 2026-10-29
GitHub Copilot has launched a public preview of image generation and editing. Describe an image in Copilot chat and your selected reasoning model calls a dedicated tool powered by GPT Image 2.5 Flare; results preview inline and save to your workspace.
- Available in VS Code, the Copilot app, and Copilot CLI, including mid-coding-task, so you can create visual assets without leaving the workflow
- Open to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise users; image tokens are billed separately from chat models and count toward plan AI credits
- Org and enterprise owners can disable the image model via Copilot model policies; an optional "Made with AI" watermark is off by default
