MCP server makes Claude/ChatGPT cite datasheet pages for every part value
Winter-Drop-1334 · reddit · 2026-10-29
A developer launched PartsPlan, a free remote MCP server (OAuth, 300 calls/month free tier) that lets Claude and ChatGPT answer electronics part questions with page-level datasheet citations. It finds manufacturer datasheets by part number, cites the exact document and page behind each value, admits when a value isn't in the source, and disambiguates multiple makers/revisions sharing a part number. Tools include datasheet lookup, in-document search, page text/image retrieval, and line-by-line BOM checking. It's in the Claude connector directory and available as a ChatGPT app; limits: it doesn't design or validate circuits and only covers indexed datasheets.
