Week-long study of Claude Duet setups finds 4 rules for channels that don't drift
iamdemetrius_ · reddit · 2026-10-29
After a week digging through X posts, YouTube walkthroughs, Dan Shipper's Every review and Anthropic's examples — 33 use cases, only 2 channel purposes shared verbatim — the author distilled 4 recurring rules:
- One channel, one job: an email-only channel works; mixing email + calendar + research drifts.
- Say what done looks like: a job-search channel reduced to one sentence with a clear goal and deadline ("land a remote infra role at a high-growth startup by year end").
- Put limits at both ends: write your own "don't delete/send without my yes" into the Purpose.
- Don't make too many channels: Riley Brown built 10, kept 3.
Bonus warning: unfinished tasks keep getting checked while you're idle and count toward your usage — mark them done.
