Midea Group enters humanoid robotics with MIRO U deployed at Wuxi factory

Midea Group, the Chinese Fortune 500 appliance giant that acquired KUKA in 2017, is entering humanoid robotics along two tracks:
- MIRO series: industrial multi-arm wheeled humanoids for manufacturing and logistics; flagship MIRO U has 42 degrees of freedom and was deployed at Midea's Wuxi factory in December 2025
- Meila series: bipedal humanoids for smart home interaction, retail assistance, and connected appliance automation
The strategy is to validate humanoid robots in Midea's own manufacturing operations before broader commercialization, with its appliance business serving as a ready-made customer.
