Effect 4.1 released: new crypto modules, Glob search, streaming CSV and HttpApi improvements
samgoodwin89 · x · 2026-10-29
Effect, the functional TypeScript framework, has released v4.1:
- effect/crypto modules: randomness, hashing, encryption, signing and key management, provided explicitly via platform layers like NodeCrypto.layer; replaces effect/Crypto (see upgrade notes).
- Experimental Glob module: path matching plus FileSystem.glob with the same pattern syntax across Node, Bun and Deno.
- Also: streaming CSV, HttpApi Problem Details, Decision.locate, and more.
Effect 4.x bets on "one ecosystem, zero dependencies"; 4.1 rounds out common server-side capabilities.
