Anthropic is expanding its OneGov agreement with the US General Services Administration, offering a 40% discount across Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government, and the Claude API — for the first time covering federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, with cloud-provider purchases to follow.
- Around 500 US federal, state, and local government organizations now use Claude
- Weekly Claude for Government active users are up 8x since February; federal civilian usage has grown 20x in a year
- The $1-per-user federal offer expires October 31 and is replaced by the 40% discount, billed by usage with no minimum spend
- A dedicated program will help agencies implement and get the most out of Claude, bringing private-sector best practices to the public sector
