Mark Pincus: Zuckerberg is 'more Gates than Jobs' — and worse at the copying trick
aakashgupta · x · 2026-10-29
Zynga founder Mark Pincus argues Zuckerberg is "more Gates than Jobs." Like Jobs and Gates both borrowing from Xerox PARC, the difference is execution: Gates "was not as good at the magic trick," so it looked like copying. His read on Zuckerberg: "arguably not that good at copying because when you see Threads and a lot of his products, they look like blatant copies." The trick, he says, is emulating proven success while making it feel new.
