Oura pulls $2.2B IPO, but 93% of proceeds would have gone to shareholder cashouts and taxes

AI health-ring maker Oura withdrew its $2.2B IPO citing "uncertainty in the IPO market," but Gabriel Jarrosson of Lobster Capital argues the filings tell a different story:
- Of 50 million shares offered, 36.5 million were existing shareholders cashing out — only $567M would have gone to Oura, with roughly $1.5B to sellers.
- About 93% of what Oura would have raised was earmarked for employee tax withholding, leaving almost nothing to grow the business.
In other words, the IPO was structured mostly as a mass shareholder exit rather than growth financing — and the market wasn't buying it.
