Microsoft disclosed in a regulatory filing that it generated $10 billion in revenue from commercial arrangements with OpenAI (including revenue-sharing) in the quarter ended September 30 — nearly 11% of its $92.3B total quarterly revenue. FY2026 total from OpenAI was $24.1B; the current pace annualizes to $40B. Outstanding receivables from OpenAI hit $7.2B (up from $6B in June). The financial entanglement remains enormous even as the two increasingly compete for the same customers.
