Vercel launches CI that skips irrelevant tasks automatically, 2-6x faster
cramforce · x · 2026-10-29
Vercel has launched Vercel CI (beta on all plans):
- Built on Turborepo, it intelligently skips tasks that a change couldn't possibly break — change only the backend and the frontend linter is skipped, while e2e tests still run.
- 2-6× faster CI in their internal repositories, after nearly 8 million tasks.
- Optimized for agents via Vercel MCP and CLI, billed as the future of "agentic CI".
Engineer cramforce adds that there are no magic triggering lists to maintain — it determines the minimum amount of work automatically with zero config. A ready-made agent prompt is provided: npx skills use vercel/ci@setup lets an agent configure everything and open a PR.
