Ex-Sora user says export is incomplete, OpenAI can't verify 3 months after shutdown
Realistic_Winner_493 · reddit · 2026-10-29
A former Sora user details a 3-month battle with OpenAI Support: he recalls roughly 4,000 historical items, but the official export appears to contain only about half; the old Library (Likes, Favorites, My Media) is permanently inaccessible, so he can't even identify what's missing. OpenAI Support confirmed in writing that it cannot compare exports against the former Library, cannot confirm export completeness, and has no other retrieval method — while historical data may eventually be permanently deleted. Since July he has asked for a temporary read-only Library or a verified inventory/manifest; none was provided. The post exposes a gap in user data preservation when platforms shut down: the only preservation channel itself cannot be verified.
