beffjezos · x · 2026-10-29
A developer detailed a highly convincing account-takeover scam: a fake OpenAI partnerships person with a legit-looking LinkedIn, 12k X followers followed by smart people, natural messaging, and a lookalike Calendly page (calendy.openaical.com) that redirected to X OAuth to steal the account — the fake account was verified that month, based in India. beffjezos responded that OpenAI should add an X verified badge for employees.
