GitHub Copilot Fusion Max: ~50% cheaper, 40% faster, near-frontier coding performance
0xkarasy · x · 2026-10-29
GitHub says Copilot Fusion Max costs nearly 50% less and runs 40% faster thanks to fewer turns, while staying at the edge of frontier intelligence — 30% off through end of November.
Per Artificial Analysis: Copilot Fusion is a runtime orchestration system inside GitHub Copilot that picks between Anthropic models (Claude Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5) and OpenAI models (GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6 Sol) to optimize performance, cost, and latency. Benchmarked in the Coding Agent Index v2.0 (GitHub Copilot CLI, max setting), it scores 2 points below Opus 5.5 in Claude Code at half the cost per task.
