Anthropic Gets 80% of Revenue From API Pricing; DeepSeek Costs 20x Less

Bindu Reddy points out that roughly 80% of Anthropic's revenue comes from API consumption pricing — the soft spot of its business model. DeepSeek costs about 20x less than Opus and already handles 70% of typical tasks.
His takeaway: companies routing most simple tasks to expensive tokens are massively overspending, and tiering tasks to cheaper models is the obvious cost optimization.
