Yearn deposits fell 98% from $6.9B peak — agents make switching free, and loyalty toast
LexSokolin · x · 2026-10-28
Lex Sokolin revisits crypto yield products: Yearn was crypto's first great yield product, with deposits peaking at $6.9B in 2021 — now down 98%. Combined deposits of seven onchain asset managers fell from $5.0B in 2021 to $0.3B by Oct 2026. None were scams; they were the best products of their cycle, and the money left anyway. Agents will make this worse: they make switching free, eroding whatever loyalty remains.
