Autonomous Launches Open Source Companion Robot Lamp Starting at $999

Autonomous.ai has launched Lamp, a fully-assembled open source desktop companion robot priced at $999 (dropping to $929 in bulk), with free shipping from Nov 30.
It's positioned three ways: as a daily companion (customizable voice, name and personality, with conversation and object recognition via its camera); as a dev platform (bring your own AI model, add physical and digital skills, connect apps and tools); and as a money-making tool (build robot experiences for shops, teams, schools, creators and events, with the company providing hardware and OS).
Camera-based skills include posture feedback and hydration reminders, and it can hook into agent workflows, reporting task results by voice. The original tweet pitched it as "stop babysitting your coding agents — Lamp handles the watching."
