Debate: must Anthropic stay a frontier lab with cyber-offense models, or wind down zero-sum work?
IvanVendrov · x · 2026-10-28
Responding to jdpressman's claim that any frontier lab needs strong cybersecurity and cyber-capable models to stop adversaries sabotaging training runs, Ivan Vendrov argues nobody should want to be a "frontier AI lab" in that sense — it was never Anthropic's mission, and it could keep doing positive-sum projects while winding down zero-sum ones. The post quotes Anthropic's "A collective endeavor" mission statement on collaborating with civil society, government and academia on field-wide safety.
