Clawifi MCP server cuts agent web-reading tokens by 75%, beats Firecrawl on benchmarks

A developer launched Clawifi, an MCP server that lets agents search the web and read pages, PDFs, and JS-heavy sites. Instead of ingesting a whole page including menus and footers, it returns only the passages that answer the question with sources: on their test set, a typical page dropped from 3,746 tokens to 919 — about 75% less.

Cost-saving extras: one search call covers several engines, failed or empty reads aren't charged, and cached repeat reads are free. On a public search benchmark it beat Firecrawl, Tavily and Brave on legal and scholarly search at a fraction of the price. Works with Claude, Cursor and any MCP client; free tier of 1,000 calls/month.
