Gergely Orosz spots a tech industry divide: AI autonomy thrivers vs. the bitter and lost
dfinke · x · 2026-10-28
Gergely Orosz observes a growing divide in tech: one group thrives on autonomy, reinventing how they work with AI — heavy workload but enjoyable and highly efficient. The other, used to being mentored or told what to do, is frustrated by the lack of management guidance on AI, bitter watching peers thrive, and increasingly resentful of AI and the industry. Neither group, he notes, is aware the other exists, or has empathy for it.
