NVIDIA launches DSX AI factory designs: near-zero cooling water, 30% less power
RevLebaredian · x · 2026-10-28
At GTC Berlin, NVIDIA announced DSX reference designs and software for building AI factories, treating them like real factories optimized for output per unit of energy, time-to-production, yield and uptime.
- Cooling: closed-loop liquid cooling and dry coolers cut facility cooling water to near zero — a 2GW deployment could save 54 million liters/day, equal to 180,000 households.
- Power: DSX MaxLPS generates the same tokens with up to 30% less power; CoreWeave, Google Cloud, Lambda, Nebius and Nscale plan adoption. DSX Flex turns AI factories into flexible grid loads for faster grid connection.
- Simulation-first: DSX Sim validates power, cooling and infrastructure configs in digital twins before construction; SimReady Central launches on Hugging Face with validated power/cooling assets.
- Open source: DSX OS automates infrastructure lifecycle, health and resiliency.
- Ecosystem: AVEVA, Dassault Systèmes, Siemens, ABB, Hitachi Energy, Schneider Electric, Vertiv and others are on board for Europe's buildout.
