Sentient launches open-source AI OS that finishes on-screen tasks with its own cursor
testingcatalog · x · 2026-10-28
Sentient has launched Sentient OS, an open-source AI system that gathers context from local files and messages and executes tasks on the user's computer. Sidekick hands off an open task—a form or email—and lets Sentient finish it with its own cursor; Double Tap drafts replies in the user's writing style via a hotkey, with hosted or fully local model options. Everything it learns is stored locally in plain text, open to view and edit. Free for Apple Silicon Macs, Windows coming soon.
