OpenAI opens Decisions API beta: up to 10x faster decisions than GPT-6 Luna
OpenAIDevs · x · 2026-10-28
OpenAI's dev account announced the Decisions API is now in public beta, letting apps pick the right model, tool, or action in near real-time — up to 10x faster than calling GPT-6 Luna through the Responses API.
A shared case from Datadog shows real-world use: scoring the risk of agent-generated rshell commands before execution for host remediation. Compared to available frontier models, it delivered 40x faster p95 with comparable accuracy, moving risk scoring into the live remediation hot path.
