Solo dev runs a fully AI-generated YouTube channel with HeyGen and Claude Code at ~$20/video
pavlenkovit · reddit · 2026-10-27
A solo developer shared the full stack behind his educational language-learning YouTube channel where the presenter, voice, studio, script and editing are all AI-generated: Claude Code for ideas, 10-15 min scripts and production workflow; ElevenLabs for voiceover; ChatGPT for a consistent AI avatar, camera angles and virtual studio; HeyGen for lip-synced talking-head video; and Claude Code again to assemble the final cut. Alternatives tested: Kling AI was "nightmare fuel," Hedra had drifting eyes and lip-sync issues, HeyGen was the most natural. Cost: $20 per video, reducible by swapping talking-head scenes for graphics. He originally planned a Russian channel, then realized his AI avatar could speak any language and pivoted to English.
