PM uses Claude Code and Codex for 74 analyses to spot a possible exoplanet in NASA data
CodeByPoonam · x · 2026-10-27
A product manager used AI coding agents to analyze NASA telescope data and found a signal that could point to a previously unknown exoplanet.
By his own account, the work was two weeks of trying to prove himself wrong: 74 separate analyses and over 1,000 scripts, with Claude Code doing the analysis and Codex serving as a second set of eyes.
His favorite check: hide each year of data in turn and let the other two predict when the star would dim — right 3 times out of 3.
