Asana survey: 46% of multi-agent users say managing agents eats 10%+ of their work time
ombre-ai · reddit · 2026-10-27
An Asana survey (Oct 14, 4,502 CIOs, AI leaders, and AI-using workers) found that 46% of people using 2+ agents estimate that switching tools, choosing agents, checking outputs, and resolving conflicts takes over 10% of their working time — more than 4 hours per 40-hour week. Another 38% report substantial duplicated or overlapping agent work. All figures are self-estimates, not tracked time.
The author ties this to Anthropic's October guidance: a single agent loop with skills can beat unnecessary subagent setups on quality and cost, with valid subagent use cases named. The open question for builders: when adding an agent, do you budget for the human supervising it?
