Dev launches hosted MCP server that turns video URLs into timestamped Markdown summaries

- Reddit user h (maker of SummarizeVideo.ai) released a hosted MCP server that turns a public video URL into a timestamped Markdown summary.
- Three tools: summarizevideo (submits a job, dedupes same URL/language), getsummary (polls pending/done/error, returns Markdown with [m:ss] timestamps per key point), and gettranscript (paged plain-text transcript, 50k chars per page) so agents only pull exact wording when needed instead of loading full transcripts into context.
- Demo used the official TypeScript SDK on a 2-minute captioned NASA video: one submit call, done result about 30 seconds later.
- Setup is Streamable HTTP with a Bearer key (no OAuth), keys expire in 7-365 days and are revocable; hosted and closed source, free tier is 2 summaries per rolling 24h, public URLs only (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, etc.), caption-less videos transcribed from audio up to 90 minutes.
