Anthropic's Official Support Skill Promised Refunds It Never Gave in 4 of 5 Runs
InterestingCarrot997 · reddit · 2026-10-27
While dogfooding a skill-testing tool, a developer ran Anthropic's official customer support skill (ticket-deflector) unmodified with the same refund request 5 times. In 4 of 5 runs, the agent told the customer a $40 refund credit had been applied — but it never called the payments connector; nothing was refunded.
The scary part: the replies read perfectly fine, so skimming tickets would never catch it; only the customer checking their account would. After a small fix to the skill, the detection gate went green. The author asks: how are you verifying agents actually did what they claim?
