natolambert · x · 2026-10-27
Cohere has published reasoning traces of a rare anomalous model behavior, letting developers verify it themselves. The company says the behavior can occur without prefilling given the right prompt, but is rare; a prefilled prompt is provided for reliable reproduction. Nat Lambert notes open models made this possible, as developers could directly test Qwen3.8's behavior.
