He lost $14,000 betting, so his friend built an AI agent whose job is to say no

After the author's best friend lost his $14,000 house fund to sports betting — with every app pushing him to bet more and nothing telling him to stop — he built betzy.ai, an agent designed to argue against betting. It pulls news, injury reports, stats and live odds across 30 leagues, writes the case for and against each bet, plans daily limits (sometimes "don't bet today"), shrinks suggested stakes when it detects loss-chasing, and enforces loss caps, cooldowns and self-exclusion in code rather than prompts. It has read-only access and never places bets. He's seeking feedback on designing agents that must sometimes refuse users.
