Agent Buddy: A Desk Gadget That Shows What Your Background AI Coding Agents Are Doing
DanWahlin · x · 2026-10-27
Agent Buddy, a desk companion device for AI coding agents, just arrived in time for GitHub Universe. Since agents run in background terminals, it's easy to miss state changes: the device shows up to six agents' status at a glance — focused eyes while working, a head tilt with an amber question mark when approval is needed, a celebration on completion, and napping after two quiet minutes.
It ships with built-in characters (Copilot, Claude, OpenClaw), supports custom .acpk packs over USB/Wi-Fi, displays GitHub Copilot credits or agent token usage, and offers a desktop app if you don't have the device.
