Researcher bneyshabur introduced Fern, an architecture whose training and serving stack supports 10M tokens (23 MB of code) at once, with prediction quality continuing to improve all the way up to 10M tokens.
The thesis: "context is intelligence" — model capability grows with compute, which can be spent on parameters or context. teortaxesTex calls it possibly the first serious 10M-context model.
