SpaceX has signed a binding commitment for an approximately $40 billion master finance lease with an entity managed by Apollo Global Management — the largest committed GPU financing ever.
- The lease funds next-generation NVIDIA Vera Rubin chips for SpaceX's terrestrial compute buildout
- Financing led by Apollo and Goldman Sachs (sole structuring agent), with anchor commitments from BlackRock, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and capital accounts advised by KKR
- CFO says compute demand is accelerating with sub-one-year payback periods on SI infrastructure investments; compute will power Grok for enterprises and consumers plus cloud customers
- Expected to close before year-end 2026, with GPU delivery starting H1 2027
