"Human-level intelligence" may compare AI to the wrong unit: one human is weak alone
GullibleOnPurpose · reddit · 2026-10-26
A Reddit post argues the benchmark "human-level intelligence" is conceptually flawed: an individual human is a weak unit, since language, math, science, education and institutions are cumulative and distributed across people and generations. A human plugs into a swarm running for millennia. So the real question is whether AI is being compared to one person — or to one person plus humanity's accumulated cognitive infrastructure.
