Claude's answer to what you'll regret not owning in 10 years: your own AI

Asked what people will regret not owning in the next decade, Claude answered: their own AI.
Its reasoning: nearly everyone currently rents intelligence from three or four companies, much like renting music and films until the license runs out — except this time what's rented is how you work, write, research, and make decisions. Whoever runs the model can raise prices, change the rules, read what you send, or switch it off without asking.
A capable open model on your own laptop costs nothing today and takes an afternoon to set up. In ten years, the real divide will be between people who own an AI and people who need permission.
