ssh4net · x · 2026-10-26
A developer shows off Spectronia, a homegrown spectral renderer running on Apple Silicon via Metal 4: a 25-material, 25-sphere gamut test scene spanning pure colors, fluorescents, metals, clearcoat and skin.
The screenshots reveal GPU path tracing in the viewport at 39-53 fps at 1126 spp, real-time auto-exposure and camera controls, with outputs shown under 2700K, D75 and D50 lighting. The author notes proper tone/gamut mapping isn't implemented yet.
