Claude agent gets stuck on Amazon's 'I am human' checkbox, forcing user to switch models
JeffLadish · x · 2026-10-26
Jeff Ladish shared a real-world agent failure: his Claude agent got stuck adding sunscreen to his Amazon cart by an "I am human" checkbox. Anthropic reasonably trained Claude not to bypass such checks, but it's extremely annoying for end users — so he'll just use a different model. A concrete example of the tension between safety training (don't impersonate humans / bypass verification) and agent usability for real tasks.
