Dev rewrites Spain's AutoFirma in Rust — works as a Claude/ChatGPT skill to sign PDFs
cuenca · x · 2026-10-26
A Spanish developer released firma-cli, a command-line PAdES PDF signing tool as an alternative to the government-mandated AutoFirma. It's a single self-contained pure Rust binary — no Java, no OpenSSL, no external libraries. It supports multiple users with separate certificates (.p12/.pfx or macOS Keychain/Windows cert store, with keys never leaving the system and approvals via Touch ID/Windows Hello), visible signatures on any page including rotated ones, and AutoFirma-style text stamps. Notably, it works well as a skill in Claude/ChatGPT: just hand over the PDF and ask it to sign, and it finds where to place the visible signature automatically.
